The Vice President of Human Resources is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for the daily operation of the Human Resources department, including recruitment, retention, compensation, employee relations, training and development, benefits, and compliance with state and federal regulations.  Participates in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.  Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment.  Makes decisions, which are binding upon the company.  Responsible for supervision of the Security and Administrative departments and serves as the Company's Assistant FSO.

•  Develops and maintains Company procedures and policies with regard to all HR functions.  
•  Conducts recruitment effort for all personnel; oversees new hire orientations and conducts exit interviews; administers internal transfer/promotion program; oversees performance review process.
•  Administers all benefit plans, including health and welfare, worker’s compensation, and all government-mandated programs.  Participates in the decision-making process regarding benefits offered to employees.
•  Responds to and counsels employees and managers on employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment or discrimination allegations, disciplinary actions, etc.  Represents the company on EEOC charges, unemployment claims; civil rights complaints and other employment-related issues.  Administers the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action programs.
•  Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual.
•  Responsible for employee training.
•  Represents the company at selected community events; keeps abreast of the latest Human Resources information and developments through professional organization meetings, seminars, and educational activities.
•  Supervises Human Resources, Security and Administration staff.

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
•  Minimum of 15-yrs experience as a Human Resources Manager, with minimum 7-yrs in an Executive Leadership role.
•  In-depth knowledge of all HR functions.
•  Good understanding of labor legislation and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
•   Experience working in a manufacturing environment for a Government Contractor.
•  Excellent leadership abilities.
•  Ability to work independently and make decisions.
•  Ability to research and analyze various types of data.
•  Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues.
•  Strong written/verbal communications skills.
•  Proven ability to work effectively with a wide-range of stakeholders to identify and resolve people-related issues.
•  Ability to represent the company professionally.
•  Ability to create and enforce policies and procedures.
•  Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
•  Proficient in MS Office software applications and HRIS (Paycom).
•  SPHR/PHR/GPHR preferred, not required.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years experience as a Human Resources Manager
