Role Summary
As Vice President, Growth & Strategy for the Navy & Marine Corps IT Business Area, you will lead both the growth strategy and capture execution. You will own portfolio-level planning, pipeline maturation, win strategies, teaming relationships, and innovation alignment. This role requires a dynamic leader who can translate Naval Modernization imperatives into winning business outcomes, while driving efficient capture discipline and forging high-impact partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the multi-year growth strategy (3–5 year horizon) for the Navy & Marine Corps IT portfolio, aligning with sector goals and evolving customer priorities.
- Oversee and guide capture execution across the business area: lead pursuit decisions, win strategies, resource alignment, risk mitigation, and bid governance.
- Own and optimize a dynamic, multi-billion-dollar opportunity pipeline; prioritize pursuits based on strategic fit, PWIN, and ROI.
- Drive innovation integration: actively surface new technologies, digital enablers, and modernization approaches into pursuit shaping and solutioning.
- Establish and sustain deep executive relationships across Navy, USMC, DoD acquisition, and other stakeholders to influence strategy and position Leidos as a trusted partner
- Lead cross-functional teaming across BD, capture, systems engineering, delivery, pricing, and support functions to ensure coherence and execution excellence.
- Monitor competitive landscape, market trends, customer budgets, and emerging opportunities; adapt strategy accordingly.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance oversight of capture and growth leads in the business area.
- Support sector-level growth forums, financial forecasting, and business reviews with sector/SVP leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 15+ years of relevant experience in government contracting, business development, capture, or strategic growth roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, complex pursuits (valued > $500M).
- Proven track record of growing portfolios, shaping and winning recompetes or new programs, and delivering double‑digit growth.
- Experience operating in USN/USMC or DoD IT markets, with familiarity across USN/USMC networks, enterprise IT, cloud modernization, cybersecurity, or digital services.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and business acumen.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills capable of engaging C‑suite, senior government, and technical leads.
- Experience leading matrixed, cross-functional teams.
- Active US citizenship and ability to obtain/hold a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business, engineering, information systems, or related field.
- Familiarity with modern IT architectures (e.g. cloud, zero trust, microservices, DevSecOps).
- Prior experience in change‑oriented growth or innovation roles.
- Published thought leadership or speaking engagements in USN/USMC venues
- Demonstrated ability to integrate new technologies into capture strategies (AI/ML, edge, secure comms).
