Job Opportunity: 

BHSI is seeking an experienced insurance operations leader to join our Boston-based team in the newly created role of Vice President, Global Operations. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing organization, leading and supporting process growth, standardization, efficiency, and automation. This key decision-making role sits within our global Operations team and will partner with teammates across all levels, functions and geographies (North America, Asia Middle East, Australasia, and Europe). We are seeking candidates who are enthusiastic about team leadership, fostering cross-functional relationships, and process improvement. Success in this role requires a strategic results-oriented mindset that emphasizes collaboration and the ability to work effectively across cultures.

A primary responsibility of this role is leading and governing global process consistency and efficiency across multiple areas of the BHSI policy lifecycle. This role will also serve as the Operations lead supporting the North America region, partnering closely with underwriting leadership to establish and align strategic objectives. You will be supported to manage these complementary duties in a culture that values empowerment, collaboration and accountability.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process Governance: Manage and oversee BHSI’s global underwriting pre-bound and bound policy lifecycle processes, ensuring consistent execution, efficiency, and measurable results in partnership and collaboration with operations teammates in region-focused roles.
• Process Improvement: Participate in an ongoing cross-functional initiative to expand automation, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and introduce efficiencies in BHSI’s global policy lifecycle processes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Partner to improve strategic outcomes as the Operations lead supporting BHSI’s North America underwriting region.
• Data Governance: Serve as global operations strategic business owner for BHSI’s system of record for party data (i.e., insured and broker); lead global operational process changes and system expansions to support improved data integrity.
• Regulatory Reporting Oversight: Manage multiple global and regional regulatory reporting processes; drive increased automation and process improvements.
• Functional Lead: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure key policy administration system buildouts and expansions support strategic operational objectives.
• People Leadership: Lead and manage onshore team.
• Operations Service Delivery Leadership: Manage a key third-party vendor relationship monitoring service level agreements, quality, and cost management.

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Required:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial insurance industry operations.
• Experience managing insurance policy lifecycle processes.
• Proven proficiency in contributing to strategic outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and to influence and effectively manage change.
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence; experience developing, managing and leading people.

Preferred:

• Experience defining and articulating system requirements.
• Experience partnering with offshore service providers and working across time zones.
• Experience with the US admitted market.
• Experience with insurance finance and regulatory reporting.

The base salary range for this position in Boston is $180,000 to $210,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
