Vice President, General Manager

Nexstar Media Inc., America’s largest local broadcasting company, is seeking a Vice President and General Manager to lead its media properties in Albany (DMA 62) and Utica (DMA 171) in New York.  The General Manager will have full oversight of Nexstar’s operations at  WTEN (ABC) in Albany and WFXV (Fox) in Utica, and will oversee its operational agreement with Mission Broadcasting providing services to  WXXA (Fox) in Albany and WUTR (ABC)/WPNY (My Net) in Utica through an SSA, as well as www.News10.com, www.cnyhompage.com, and all other digital, mobile and social media assets for the stations. 

WTEN serves New York’s Capital Region, including Albany, Schenectady, Troy and surrounding areas. The station is deeply rooted in the community, engaging in initiatives like “Pet Connection”, and “Coats for Kids”.  The station has a legacy of reliable news coverage and community-focused programming.  News10abc, the news brand across both the ABC and FOX affiliates, produces 65 hours of weekly news, in addition to their weekly state-wide program “Empire State Weekly”. News10abc has risen to the most-watched newscast in the Capital Region.

The successful candidate will have five years of broadcast leadership experience with a successful track record in leading sales driven organizations and developing revenue across multiple platforms, as well as providing leadership by developing department heads and promoting teamwork within all station departments.
