We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full Stack Engineer to join our ETF Engineering team. This role is located in New York City.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Participate in the technical design, development, and implementation of ETF application systems, writing well-structured, testable, and efficient code.
Design and develop automated test suites and quality-assurance procedures using standard testing frameworks.
Actively participate in code reviews and integrate software components into fully functional systems.
Ensure high-quality engineering outcomes using CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices, delivering software via rapid iterations and frequent releases.
Collaborate effectively with multi-location teams across engineering, product, operations, and support functions.
Liaise with internal and external clients with a client-first mindset, translating business needs into clear technical solutions and support.
Participate in production release-day activities, including deployment validation, issue triage, and post-release support.
Champion an AI-first approach across the SDLC, including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, remediation, and code quality.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
5-9 years of experience.
Drive the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale full-stack applications leveraging Java 17+, Spring 6/Spring Boot, Angular, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and exceptional client experience.
Lead development of client-facing RESTful APIs, distributed services, and inter-process communication frameworks, supporting high-volume transactional workloads and mission-critical financial-services platforms.
Apply deep expertise in Core Java, including multi-threading, memory optimization, concurrency management, and large-scale data processing to deliver resilient, high-performance enterprise solutions.
Architect and optimize data and integration layers utilizing Oracle or SQL Server, distributed caching technologies such as Hazelcast, and event-driven messaging platforms including Kafka to support low-latency, highly available systems.
Establish engineering excellence through comprehensive test automation, quality assurance, and SDLC governance using frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, TestContainers, and Playwright within Agile delivery environments.
Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards through implementation of OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT-based authentication and authorization models, secure coding practices, and financial-services data protection requirements.
Advance cloud-native engineering and platform reliability through GitLab CI/CD, DevOps automation, containerized deployment frameworks, Docker/Podman, and modern software delivery practices.
Evaluate and leverage emerging AI and developer productivity technologies, including LLMs, prompt engineering, MCP frameworks, and tools such as Codex, Claude, and Windsurf to accelerate innovation and engineering effectiveness.
Partner with business stakeholders, external clients, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver strategic solutions, with preference for experience supporting ETFs, capital markets, or broader financial-services platforms.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting.
Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered.
