Santander Corporate & Investment Banking’s Financing Group in Asia Pacific is seeking a Vice President to support the continued growth of its regional financing franchise. The team provides a broad range of financing solutions across infrastructure / project finance, acquisition / leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset finance, syndicated corporate loans, debt capital markets (DCM), fund finance, securitization and other structured financing products. 

The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in origination, transaction analysis, structuring, internal approvals, syndication / distribution, documentation and closing.

The candidate will work closely with relationship coverage, syndication / distribution, legal, credit risk, market risk, compliance, operations / middle office and other internal teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the origination, structuring and execution of financing transactions across infrastructure / project finance, acquisition / leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset finance, syndicated corporate loans, debt capital markets (DCM), fund finance, securitization and other structured financing products.

  • Prepare and review financial analysis, financial models, credit analysis, rating considerations, comparable analysis, sensitivity cases, risk assessment and transaction return analysis.

  • Assist with the preparation of client presentations, market updates, financing proposals, internal credit papers, committee materials, term sheets and other transaction documentation.

  • Coordinate due diligence, internal approval processes, documentation and closing activities, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers.

  • Support syndication and DCM execution processes, including analysis of market conditions, pricing considerations, investor / lender feedback, distribution strategy and execution risks.

  • Monitor existing transactions and support portfolio-related activities, including exposure monitoring, covenant compliance, waivers / amendments, refinancing opportunities and periodic credit reviews.

  • Work with senior team members and global / regional stakeholders to support Santander’s Financing Group franchise in Asia Pacific.

Requirements
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in project finance, structured finance, acquisition / leveraged finance and/or debt capital markets (DCM) syndicate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.

  • Strong credit, financial analysis and financial modelling skills, with the ability to assess cash flow profiles, downside scenarios, risk allocation, transaction returns and market comparables.

  • Good understanding of financing documentation, due diligence, internal credit approval processes, syndication / distribution and cross-border transaction execution.

  • Familiarity with debt / loan capital markets execution, including market updates, pricing dynamics, investor feedback, orderbook considerations and execution windows, will be viewed favourably.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment, with strong attention to detail and accountability for deliverables.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders; additional Asian languages will be viewed favourably.
