Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director – Financial Reporting, the Vice President – Financial Reporting will be an integral part of the team’s success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role consists of completion and/or review of financial statements and management of audit process over financial year end for various clients, ensuring superior service to clients and fund accounting teams. This will include (but is not limited to) the following:
- Manage the process of preparing and reviewing annual financial statements in accordance with the relevant Fund accounting framework.
- Manage bigger client relationships in the Financial Reporting process.
- Review and ensure accuracy of disclosures via review of legal documents governing the fund and disclosures required under specified accounting standards.
- Coordinate the year-end financial statements preparation process and ensure that all queries relating to the financial statements are resolved on a timely basis.
- Ensure audit and financial reporting related issues are identified and investigated on a timely basis; and provide guidance for solutions.
- Management of team members and deliverables.
- Review the work of others and ensure all work is scheduled to meet agreed timelines.
- Training of team members, including on the use of relevant reporting software.
- Assist with recruitment of the financial reporting team.
- Review client deliverables in accordance with agreed timelines and ensure that work that deliverables are prioritized for team members daily, and any delays are clearly communicated.
- Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Identify areas of improvement and leading projects within the team.
- Complete any other additional ad hoc tasks or deliverables that may be assigned as needed or due to business demand.
REQUIREMENTS

Experience:
- 8 years exposure to asset management accounting in either an Audit Firm or Hedge Fund Administrator where the accountant has gained an understanding of financial products
- Minimum 4 years’ previous managerial experience.
- Detailed knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS
- Ability to research issues and present findings in a professional manner.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail along with good knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements pertaining to funds.
Education:
- A university degree (B.A./ B.Sc./ M.B.A.) in Business (preferably specializing in accountancy or another financial-related discipline).
- An internationally recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent), is an advantage.
Skills Required
- 8 years exposure to asset management accounting in an Audit Firm or Hedge Fund Administrator
- Minimum 4 years previous managerial experience
- Detailed knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Ability to research accounting issues and present findings professionally
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of fund-related regulatory requirements
