The Financial Instruments and Technology Group (FIT) in Kroll is continually developing new and innovative applications to feed our clients' needs to stay atop marketplaces, analyze their investments and gain new insights into planned or existing holdings.  We are growing our technology team with engineers who have deep knowledge of financial analysis and enjoy building complex, scalable analytic tools so that they reach high performance and reliability.  People who can work on multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoy interacting with technical and financial people.

This is a Senior level position and we are open to remote working within the US. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead with an experienced team to help design and build multiple new financial applications, from conception to either internal or client-facing deployment

  • Develop scalable, high-performance valuation models and frameworks for different asset classes working with other financial domain experts

  • Take existing processes and models, understand their structure and objectives, and implement automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

  • Integrate new modeling techniques and approaches into existing analytics libraries

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional technical design and programming experience in C#, Python or C/C++

  • BS/MS in math, hard science, quantitative finance, computer science or engineering

 

  • Finance Requirements

    • Familiarity with a range of different asset classes, such as Asset Based Finance  whole loans pool, various fixed income instruments, derivatives and/or structured products

    • Asset valuation, risk analysis or similar algorithm implementation experience

    • Understanding of market and modelling conventions for various asset classes

 

  • Programming Requirements

    • Ability to effectively design, debug, test and optimize financial algorithms

    • Object-oriented development experience

    • Familiarity and interest in LLMs

    • Development experience using C#, Python or C/C++

    • One or more of the following beneficial:

      • Experience with SQL and relational DB design 

      • Experience with Pandas, PyStats or R for statistical analysis

      • Experience with GPU computing with CUDA C/C++

    • Skilled at writing understandable, concise documentation

 

  • Prior Work Experience

    • Demonstrated ability to program complex analytics (through samples provided)

    • Demonstrated ability to abstract and document code (through samples provided)

    • Experience using git for version control and/or Azure DevOps experience appreciated

 

  • General Traits

    • Interest in Financial Markets and Financial Analysis

    • Engineering focus on practical, efficient solutions and proven theories, not academic ones

    • Good at explaining complex concepts at various levels, in writing and orally

    • Natural problem solver; enjoy figuring out loosely specified, complex problems

    • Good at working on multiple projects simultaneously and finishing what you start

    • Ability to track and account for time spent on projects and perform to deadlines
