Reporting directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Finance serves as a key member of Derby's executive leadership team and is responsible for the Company's overall financial strategy, accounting, financial reporting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, business analytics, internal controls, and financial governance. This individual provides strategic leadership while remaining hands-on in the daily financial operations of the business and serves as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO. The Vice President of Finance partners closely with Hoffmann Family of Companies to support growth initiatives, operational excellence, acquisitions, and long-term value creation.

Requirements

  • Serve as the Company’s senior financial leader and trusted business advisor to the President & CEO
  • Partner with the executive leadership team to provide financial insight and strategic recommendations
  • Drive profitability and EBITDA improvement through financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash management functions
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, tax advisors, and other key financial partners
  • Develop annual operating budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans
  • Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate policies
  • Partner closely with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Quality to improve profitability and operational performance
  • Support acquisition evaluations, financial due diligence, integration activities, and post-acquisition reporting
  • Develop, mentor, and build a high-performing finance organization

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience leading the finance function within a manufacturing organization
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
  • Strong ERP, manufacturing systems, financial systems, and business intelligence experience
  • Experience supporting leveraged organizations and managing banking and lender relationships
  • Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership to drive profitability and business performance
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, and post-acquisition integrations preferred
  • Experience working with private equity or privately held manufacturing companies preferred
  • Experience as the senior financial leader of a $50M to $250M manufacturing company preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and lead high-performing teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus
