Position Summary
This role will be responsible for overseeing the Finance Function in Bloomington. It will ensure accurate financial records and provide on-site Strategic and Tactical leadership to the site, the site General Manager, Senior Vice President (SVP) Biologics, Operational leaders and the VP of Finance Biologics. This role is also accountable for adherence to corporate policies and procedures, continuous improvement and the development of the local finance team.
Work with the leaders of the business to grow revenue and EBITDA. This is a business that has seen significant growth recently and requires strong financial leadership to stabilize and standardize processes while supporting Site Leadership Team in driving critical business decisions and delivering on financial commitments.
Essential Functions of the Role

  • Strategy Vision and Leadership:
    • Contribute to the development of Bloomington's strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the Site
    • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Site GM, VP Finance and SVP Biologics informed of all critical issues
  • Own all aspects of Bloomington Finance operations, including:
    • Regular financial reporting (e.g. preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements), forecasts, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management and procurement initiatives
    • Timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal and external parties
    • Ensure accuracy of Financial Statements and effectiveness of Internal Controls
  • Operations Oversight:
    • Drive improved accurate forecasting of Revenues through earnings and cashflow
    • Support Commercial teams in negotiating of Client Deals
    • Review and analyze capital investments as well as related returns on the investments
    • Improve productivity and effectiveness of local team, FP&A and Controllership
    • Liase with SLT (Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, HR, Engineering etc) to drive improvement and standardization of policies and procedures
    • Lead Strat Plan and Budget for Site
    • Contribute to weekly Revenue Forecast process with the Business Unit
    • Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures
  • Team Leadership:
    • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
    • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development
    • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments
    • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • 15-20 years progressive experience in the Finance/Accounting field
  • Demonstrated leadership experience. 5-10 years supervisory experience or equivalent cross functional project leadership
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial systems and Revenue Recognition
  • Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail balanced by a keen ability to integrate the broader strategic picture
