The Role
I.GENERAL SUMMARY

The VP DBS is leading and overseeing the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) model and activities within the LMS organization for supporting the company to meet its key Core Value Drivers and performance metrics as well as supporting delivery of our strategic initiatives (Policy Deployment (PD)). The role coaches/guides L1 functional leaders on advancing DBS maturity within their respective function and is instrumental in evolving the culture of DBS and continuous improvement throughout the organization. The role is reporting directly to the President and is a member of the global leadership team.

II.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and own the annual global LMS DBS plan & strategy based on the DBS functional playbooks, assessments and Core Value Drivers area of focus
  • Drive DBS Fundamentals capability and culture globally and into the regions, Business Units and functions through the annual DBS Plan to address gaps based on the critical few prioritized business needs and manage the Certified Practitioner funnel.
  • Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and the change management process.
  • Support site and company leadership in the development of a DBS Roadmap – Lean and Growth - (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results and grow its businesses).
  • Ensure impactful and sustained kaizen events globally and regionally by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process, including planning of kaizen events with a funnel review process tied to PD, CVDs and KPIs, kaizen event execution and sustainment of kaizens
  • Lead, promote and facilitate proactively diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business. Provide expert counsel, support on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them.
  • Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching for developing certified DBS team and create DBS ambassadors allowing the setup of a sustainable DBS mindset within LMS. Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools.
  • Support LMS and Danaher DBS organization for continuing the evolution of the DBS tools and become the Company DBS contact for Danaher DBS Office.
  • Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other Danaher locations.
III.REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

Professional Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view
  • Demonstrated direct experience in working with commercial, product management or manufacturing/operations excellence roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated commitment to DBS Fundamentals, holding a CP or ACP in VSM, TPI, PSP, and Daily Management; Funnel Management, Lean Management.

b)  Education

  • BSc degree in Science, Strategic Management, Project Management, or equivalent required.

c)  Language

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English, German a plus

d) Travel

  • Must have willingness to travel internationally for up to 60%

  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership with ability to work execute across boundaries and matrices

The salary range for this role is 225000 - 250000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
