The Impact of a Vice President, Business Systems at Coupa:

Coupa is seeking an accomplished Business Systems leader with an extensive background delivering “off the shelf” SaaS software solutions within a high-growth technology company. The Vice President, Business Systems, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, is responsible for leading the delivery and ongoing management of our enterprise-wide business applications. This includes responsibilities for application implementation, configuration, integration, testing, release, and ongoing improvements and support. We have a cloud-only off-the-shelf approach, utilizing industry leading tools such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Coupa, and Dayforce with Workato as the middleware engine. The Vice President must have broad experience and knowledge of SaaS business applications, agile delivery framework, software development lifecycle processes including a focus on DevSecOps, and enterprise architecture in a heavily integrated application environment. 

We are looking for an experienced people and process leader to enable rapid scale, continue maturing the Business Systems organizational structure, drive a culture of autonomy and accountability, and fully enable and support their leaders and team members. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the end-to-end operations of a SaaS business, leading practices, the role of Business Systems in enabling rapid scalable growth and be a highly collaborative partner to our business stakeholders to build strong relationships forged in transparency, trust, and partnership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide leadership for the Business Application teams. This includes support for initiatives, relationships with both internal and external parties, and providing technical expertise and counsel
• Lead large-scale cross-functional business process and technology transformation programs
• Build an effective and scalable integrated enterprise architecture to ensure a smooth end to end experience with a high degree of data quality
• Implement efficient common-sense agile based SDLC processes with the appropriate controls and a security-first approach
• Drive a solutions strategy roadmap which integrates business applications with business needs to scale and grow the business
• Work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across the organization to understand and define business requirements, solution design and drive delivery in an agile methodology
• Build and lead a highly skilled fast-growing team of business analysts, architects, developers, qa analysts, and application administrators that effectively supports our high growth business
• Foster a DevOps culture focused on building out a CI/CD approach in processes to optimize efficiencies and increase quality of deliverables in a rapid delivery environment
• Monitor emerging technologies and processes to identify and drive appropriate changes through Coupa’s business.
• Oversee business applications to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and security of data
• Proactively manage and optimize the Business Systems budget, staffing plans and vendor

• Own IT compliance controls related to program development, change management, IT operations, and access management

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

• 10+ years of management experience leading business systems initiatives and delivery teams
• Deep knowledge of cloud-based business applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and integration middleware
• Experience leading successful technology led transformation initiatives, such as CPQ, RPA, and AI implementations with a strong focus on value-based prioritization
• Experience with a Plan-Build-Run delivery model in a fast-paced high-growth organization, with expertise setting strategy and leading delivery teams supporting many cross-functional workstreams, weekly releases, and supporting 3,000+ global employees
• Decisive leader with a focus on people and team development, and building a culture of teamwork and partnership
• Executive presence with a strong track record of partnership with all levels of the business stakeholder community
• Strong foundation in agile development lifecycle within a packaged application delivery team
• Demonstrated experience delivering packaged applications using configuration (not customization.)
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously on budget and on time with rapid timelines
• Approach work with a sense of urgency and ownership, combined with strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to the audience
• Some domestic and international travel as needed

The estimated pay range for this role is as follows:

•Based in California: $261,800 - $308,000

•Based in California: $248,625 - $292,500

•Based in Colorado: $222,700 - $262,000

•Based in New Jersey: $248,625 - $292,500

•Based in New York: $248,625 - $292,500

•Based in Washington: $235,450 - $277,000

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
