As Vice President in our Acquisitions and Strategic Investment Control Management team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a disciplined, sustainable control environment for a dynamic business. You'll partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to identify and escalate risks early, champion robust compliance practices, and deliver strategic solutions that support continuous improvement.
Job Summary
As the Vice President in the Acquisitions and Strategic Investment Control Management team, you will support the ASI function by promoting early compliance and operational risk identification, ensuring a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, and partnering with the business to ensure timely issue remediation. You will focus on robust governance, timely reporting, and escalation of exceptions to Senior Leadership, collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance control processes and contribute to strategic projects, ensuring robust risk management practices. This role is integral to maintaining a strong control environment and promoting continuous improvement.
Job responsibilities
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Acquisitions and Strategic Investments business.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) system, empowering the business to effectively manage their processes, risks, controls, issues, and action plans documented in CORE.
  • Present a convincing case (frequently) to senior leadership on updates required to the Control environment.
  • Have a strong understanding of the activities performed by the Acquisitions business as well as the Strategic Investments business to provide informed guidance on risks and controls.
  • Independently assess adequacy of operational risks identified along with their, adequacy of aligned controls, Issues and Action Plans, and pro-actively escalate areas of concern to senior business management with high sense of urgency.
  • Independently assess the broader control environment for the risk stipe, provide draft assessment rating, with rationale of a wholistic view including existing and emerging risks in the business.
  • Perform assessment of legal obligations and applicability for the business. Summarize rationale for mapping to the business and present with strong rationale to senior business leaders
  • Effectively communicate and escalate significant risk/control issues to senior leadership as needed.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to cultivate risk awareness and drive proactive risk identification.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate complex risk scenarios and propose effective solutions.
  • Support the development of internal controls, vigilantly monitor any changes and assess the impact of the same on risk and control environment.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, SOX compliance, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function / operation.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and building trust through diligent work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Capacity to respond quickly to changing business needs and urgent requests.
  • Knowledge of intelligent automation tools such as Tableau, Python, Alteryx, or UI Path

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Knowledge of acquisitions and / or strategic investments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
