INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned Vibration System Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and reliability of machinery protection and condition-monitoring systems. The role ensures accurate vibration measurement, reliable alarm/trip protection and effective integration with plant control and monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot machinery protection and vibration monitoring systems.
- Inspect and diagnose proximity probes, vibration sensors, keyphasors, monitors, racks and associated wiring.
- Perform calibration, signal verification and functional testing of vibration and speed-monitoring channels.
- Verify alarm, shutdown/trip channels, setpoints, voting logic and system response.
- Troubleshoot vibration-system signal faults, communication issues and hardware failures.
- Analyze vibration signals, trends and diagnostics to support machinery condition assessment and reliability improvement.
- Support commissioning, loop checks, functional testing and controlled return to service of vibration systems.
- Verify interfaces with DCS, SIS/ESD, PLC, SCADA and machinery monitoring systems.
- Review vibration trends and alarm history and provide condition-monitoring and maintenance recommendations.
- Support RCA and failure investigation for recurring vibration-system or machinery protection issues.
- Manage approved system configuration changes, setpoints and MOC activities.
- Maintain technical records including calibration, test results, alarm/trip verification, failure reports and CMMS records.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Mechanical/Reliability teams, OEMs and specialist vendors.
- Provide technical guidance to vibration/instrument technicians and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, HSE and machinery protection system procedures.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial facilities, including at least 5 years in vibration/machinery protection systems.
- Strong experience with machinery protection and condition-monitoring systems.
- Proficiency in proximity probes, vibration sensors, keyphasors, monitors/racks and signal conditioning.
- Experience with vibration signal analysis, trending, diagnostics and alarm/trip setpoints.
- Knowledge of DCS, SIS/ESD, PLC, SCADA and machinery monitoring interfaces.
- Experience in calibration, loop checks, functional testing and commissioning.
- Strong troubleshooting, RCA and machinery reliability improvement capabilities.
- Experience with MOC, configuration management and controlled system changes.
- Good technical documentation, communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
- OEM training/certification in machinery protection or vibration monitoring systems is highly desirable.
