We're looking for a passionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help us deliver care that begins with a visit and lasts a lifetime. What You'll Do:
- Set the bar for providing high-level, proficient veterinary medical care.
- Use integrated technology to deliver consistent and appropriate medical care.
- Perform veterinary assistant skills to support practice veterinarians, including assistance with operating medical equipment (like lab, radiology, anesthesia, and dental) and functions that require handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC)
- Review invoices with clients and handle client payments.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with other Team Members, keeping veterinarians informed in real time on patient updates (in practice, at referral, and under home care)
- Be proficient using the PIMS and aid others on the team in their use of the technology.
- Act responsibly given the pharmacy holdings of the practice and keep controlled substance logs.
- Assist practice manager with communicating on inventory needs.
- Clean workspaces after every patient or patient lab sample interaction.
- Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.
What You'll Need:
- Successful completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to complete the skills checklist for Veterinary Assistant.
- Experience in veterinary medicine.
- Passion for helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service.
- Excellent verbal / written communication, observational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.
- Frequently lift up to 50 to 70 pounds using an optional team lift and occasionally lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
- Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
