The Role

The Vendor Risk Adjustment Operations Coordinator will coordinate initiatives to improve the accuracy and productivity of Apixio's clinical coding operations for risk adjustment and quality. This role will assist in managing relationships with third party coding vendors as needed and take responsibility for improving risk adjustment coding processes.

  • Lead the Apixio relationship with the coding vendors to ensure that Apixio receives the best possible result delivery, service and support.
  • Manage coordination, tracking and reporting of all things related to coding projects.
  • Lead (coordinate, motivate and facilitate) the efforts of associated project resources working closely with internal teams and our external vendor partners
  • Ensure smooth communication channels between internal stakeholders via regular reporting and info sharing (daily/weekly/quarterly reports, meetings, status updates, etc.).
  • Own Coding Vendor Operations project management processes, tools, reference materials and cross functional usage.
  • Monitor coding project status and success ongoing.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve problems as they arise; coordinating escalation and resolution with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Prepare weekly status reports and presentations for weekly vendor meetings
  • Identify, define and execute process improvements in line with department needs and organizational goals.
  • Deep understanding of business requirements, deliverables, processes, and technologies.

  • Must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Consistent demonstration of commitment to quality, customer focus, productivity, and process improvement
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, business unit leaders, and staff in a tactful and positive manner
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, proven success in complex and ambiguous environments
  • Ability to work independently, with high productivity, and regularly meet deadlines
  • Prefer CMS and HHS HCC/Risk Adjustment experience
  • Prefer Slack, Salesforce, Looker and Wrike (or other messaging, CRM, reporting and project management tools) experience

  • Strong knowledge of the Apixio Risk Adjustment solutions platform (how coding projects are started, monitored and completed)
  • Experience in handling coding resource management (coding vendor user account management, coding vendor coordination, coding project user assignment, monitoring coder performance)
  • Collaborative relationships with operations team members (Coding Managers, Customer Success Managers, Analytics, Operations Support)
  • Amicable and productive vendor relations through regular weekly online meetings
  • Strong knowledge in coding software/tools (Salesforce, Slack, Looker, Wrike, Trakstar, Jupyter, etc.)
  • Familiarity with other Apixio solutions (e.g. Nexus)



The salary range below is for Base Salary.  Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation.  Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.

$65,000$95,000 USD
