About the Role
The Vehicle Test Engineer is responsible for the validation and verification of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) components and systems. This role involves executing test plans, analyzing test data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance and safety standards are met.
Your Responsibilities
The role involves verification of ADAS systems on vehicle and bench test environments, including developing detailed test cases, operating testing equipment, and analyzing results to identify issues. You will collaborate with software and hardware teams to resolve problems.
- Perform manual and automated testing of ADAS.
- Develop, review, and execute detailed test cases based on system requirements.
- Operate bench testing equipment, HIL systems, and vehicle testing setups.
- Collect and document test data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze test results to identify issues, root causes, and system deficiencies.
- Generate test reports, including defect logs, test summaries, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct joint tests with the customer, proving test validity.
- Manage suppliers for the data collection and data annotation (ground truth).
- Maintain test vehicles and data measurement equipment.
Who we are looking for
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, or related)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in automotive or embedded systems testing.
- Hands-on experience testing ADAS systems or similar safety-critical automotive systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN).
- Experience with HIL/SIL testing platforms (dSPACE, Vector CANoe, etc.).
- Ability to analyze data and generate detailed reports.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Language
Fluent in Japanese and English
Driver License
Japanese ordinary driver license and 3+ years of driving experience.
