At Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Private Limited (DICV), we are looking for a highly skilled Vehicle Mechatronics Specialist - HMI & Software Development to contribute to the development of next-generation vehicle Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems and connected software solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and validating advanced HMI functionalities, Automotive Network Management solutions, and OTA/FOTA capabilities while ensuring compliance with functional safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements. You will work closely with global cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, secure, and reliable user experiences for commercial vehicles.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, integrate, and validate HMI software functions for commercial vehicle platforms.

    • Develop and maintain software solutions related to Automotive Network Management, ASAM, CGW, and OTA/FOTA functionalities.
    • Contribute to the creation of intuitive and user-centric HMI features that enhance driver and passenger experience.
    • Collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to define and implement software requirements.
    • Perform software integration, debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution across vehicle systems.
    • Support the development and implementation of functional safety concepts in accordance with ISO 26262 requirements.
    • Contribute to cybersecurity activities, ensuring compliance with applicable automotive cybersecurity standards and secure software development practices.
    • Execute software verification and validation activities, including testing, calibration, and issue tracking.
    • Support system architecture development and interface definition for HMI and vehicle communication networks.
    • Analyze field issues and customer feedback to drive product improvements and software enhancements.
    • Ensure compliance with project quality, reliability, and performance targets throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in automotive software, connected vehicles, and HMI development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in HMI development, ASAM software engineering, or related automotive domains.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in ASAM, CGW, and FOTA/OTA systems within automotive applications.
  • Strong knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience with automotive network management and diagnostics.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi‑project environment with tight timelines.
  • Prior experience with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles or a comparable automotive OEM is a plus.
