The role in a nutshell
Once onboarded, you will function as a core member of the EMEA PS Delivery team, becoming an Architect. 
You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical abilities to drive and develop solutions that assist customers in achieving their business goals and outcomes.
 
You will also hold responsibility for gathering and vetting customer requirements to create an architectural design consisting of virtual infrastructure, configuration recommendations and planning, and identification of deployment validation processes and procedures. During your career as an Architect, you will gain significant cross-industry experience and be expected to apply your problem-solving capabilities to drive successful business outcomes for our customers.

As an Architect, you will find that no two days are the same! You will interact externally with customers from different lines of business across a variety of industries with a multitude of different requirements. Internally you will work with colleagues across the business from salespeople to customer success to highly skilled
engineers and your peers. Your technical skills coupled with your active listening and creativity will be key to positioning and selling the best services solutions to provide desired business outcomes and maximum value for our customers.


What success looks like in the first 6-12 months
The primary objective of an Architect is to support VMware by Broadcom’s post-sales activities by ensuring the solution being delivered is fit for purpose through referencing the initial business goals and objectives. You will be expected to demonstrate commercial and scope awareness, and a strong understanding of the wider technical landscape and how it relates to/integrates with customer environments, helping the customer meet their objectives and maximise the value of their investment.
 
As an Architect, you will integrate with the EMEA Architect community & learn how the Services team operates to deliver high-quality and effective solutions for our customers. You will meet the wider Broadcom team, build relationships, and start leveraging your knowledge and ideas in building solid approaches that will bring
customers success.
 
What type of work will you be doing?

  • This is a consulting position, where you will be intensively using architectural, technical, business, and leadership skills.
  • You will work directly with our customer stakeholders and internal teams on the day-to-day activities involved with the post-sales implementation of VMware Cloud solutions. You will articulate domain-level product design, integrating both technical and business concepts, and present an implementation journey to project stakeholders. Your goal is to lead the customer through their journey to successfully adopt our platforms for their end users.
  • You will lead technical projects related to consulting, designing, and implementing end-to-end solutions on VMware Aria solutions and use cases (automation and orchestration, automated config management, ops and telemetry, logging) aligned to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) projects.
  • Use your excellent analysis skills and architect methodologies to plan and design the automation of customers´ manual processes.
  • Use your knowledge of software development best practices to ensure the integration and successful implementation of private-cloud provisioning workflows and automation.
  • In addition to end-to-end technical governance of your project, you will also identify commercial, cost, schedule, operational and scope risks, with possible mitigation(s).
  • You will manage customer expectations and work with Project Managers to create project plans with realistic work-stream timelines.
  • Manage customer and internal escalations; collaborate with VMware support and engineering teams as needed to resolve product and customer issues.
  • You will interact with various customers’ teams, from technical engineers and system administrators to business leaders and executives. You will communicate effectively to all audiences—this is key to the success of your projects.
  • Create intellectual property and high-level and low-level enterprise solution designs while functioning as a resource for “Best Practices” and driving the adoption of our solutions.
  • Work with project manager on project budget, resource planning, and all aspects of efficient project delivery.
  • Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product portfolio and future product direction and expert-level knowledge of the virtual cloud management product lines, which includes Aria Automation, Aria Automation Config, Aria Orchestrator, Aria Operations, and Aria Operations for Logs.
  • Use your VCP (VMware Certified Professional, preferably VCAP/VCIX) and cloud management certifications

What we are looking for
 The following skills and experience will support your suitability to the role. We are keen to continue to develop a diverse team with different depths of expertise and knowledge. 

  • Certifications: VCP-CMA or similar required.
  • VCAP-CMA Design, VCIX-CMA or VCDX, TOGAF, ITIL, Certified Scrum Master are all highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation platform.
  • German Language on a native or B2 Level mandatory.
