Valve Engineer

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Provide mechanical and equipment engineering support with the preparation of technical deliverables including technical specifications, test procedures, commissioning plans for valves and mechanical systems.
  • Solid understanding and experience with valve sizing, selection, and troubleshooting of issues.
  • Experience in preparation of Valve Specifications, Technical Reports, Review & Analysis and Technical Evaluation.
  • Experience in valve actuator selection.
  • Supporting valve manufacturing, testing and commissioning.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to obtain data and resolve issues relevant to valve design.
  • Evaluate the completeness and status of delivered equipment.
  • Work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client and company procedures.

The ideal candidate:

  • Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in a Province of Canada, qualified to seal mechanical and chemical engineering documents.
  • Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Nuclear/ Oil &Gas/ Petrochemical Plants Valves Design and Operation and Maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of/experience using nuclear pressure boundary Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and ASME Sections III.
  • Qualification in the last five (5) years as a Specialized Professional Engineer to ASME Section III Appendix XXIII for Division 1 is an asset.
  • Knowledge of nuclear valves is asset.
  • Knowledge of pressure boundary work including pressure vessel design, analysis, code classification, code class boundary, non-destructive examination and design registration is an asset.
