We specialize in offering cost effective solutions for a wide variety of industries including industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and environmental cleanup applications. Scope of Role: Responsible for managing and continuous improvement of the entire value stream. Works with the value stream suppliers and customers to develop a material pull process and reduce inventory. Demonstrated success in applying basics of Lean: Single piece flow, setup time reduction, inventory reduction, 5S, etc. Demonstrated success: applying product family matrix, current and future value streams and achieving transformation. Supervises value stream team and maintains positive employee relations, team-oriented problem solving and administering employee discipline when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Daily Value Stream Gemba Walk:
- Safety – Ensuring that irreversible corrective action are in place to prevent future injuries where applicable – reinforce the mindset that safety is our overriding priority.
- Quality – Maintain Right First Time; ensure that problem solving to develop effective CAPA’s (on time), Failed FPY’s & Rework.
- Delivery – OTIF – Define gaps and executing the plans to improve
- Productivity – Improve performance to meet plan vs. actual; reduce downtime to increase efficiency and maintain Budget.
- 5S
- Ensure that standards are in place and adhered to
- Ensure that teams are performing regular 5S audits and addressing open items
- Looking for proper flow, disruptions to flow
- (identify on issue board), and adherence to standard work instructions.
- Coaching employees
- talking with leaders and operators about disruptions and ideas on continuous improvements. Mentoring teams to help them succeed in their jobs and provide feedback of way they can improve.
- Improve key metrics: Safety, Quality, OTD, and Productivity.
- Works with Suppliers and customers to implement a material “Pull” process.
- Improve Kanban, outside processing and “Point of Use” material process.
- Improve a “Build to order” finish goods strategy.
- Develop current, future and next state value stream maps.
- Schedule and drive transformation of improved value streams.
- Team building and skill development of the employees in the value stream areas assigned.
- Manages the V.S.O. to develop and administer consistent department and corporate policies.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
- Reduce scrap by 3% the first year
- Improve Manager Effectiveness Score by 3% in the first 6 months based on previous year’s score
- Improve productivity by 5% the first year
- Improve OTD by 3% the first year
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering with at least 5 - 8 years demonstrated success in manufacturing supervision
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean processes, tools, and one-piece flow.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy especially working with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to understand and apply basic cost accounting concepts
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes

- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Thinks independently; Shows initiative; Anticipates and prevents problems.
