More about the role​

We are continually looking for individuals who share our passion for Lighting and opportunities now exists for one proactive and energetic individual to join our Procurement team as Value Engineering Manager Asia.

In this position you drive the value engineering; business improvement programs throughout Lighting Business and markets.

Together we can…

• Builds and maintain the Value Engineering Program to improve business performance across business portfolios (products, services, commodities, direct and indirect materials/services, supply chain, manufacturing) with Procurement and the Business organization
• Tailor the Program to the challenges and needs of the businesses, supporting the business lead and key stakeholders in initiating and establishing value engineering conventions to drive ideation and change and assuring proper transfer to the business, to external partners, and/or to customers
• Leads and coaches sizable cross functional teams, often globally, to collaborate, drive and formulate innovative solutions that address the optimum combination of value, quality and total cost trade-offs based on key business performance targets and customer criteria
• Lead the cultural transformation to engrain an improvement mindset across all Signify and help drive value engineering methodology in the global I2M (Idea to Market) process so that it is ensured through our DNA
• Drive the execution of the Value Engineering Program (managing risks, specification, quality, time, money, information), while building organization capability with Value Engineering methodology, mindset, tools and techniques.
• Ensure that there is an effective transfer and archiving of the Value Engineering convention deliverables towards the standing organization in the business for ideation execution agreed within the Convention meetings.

More about you

An ambitious and experienced candidate, with the right combination of competencies, experience and potential to grow. You bring the following:
 

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Electronics, Mechanical, Optical, Thermal)
  • MBA is a plus

• Professional with a 5-7 years proven track record
• Experience in Procurement or Development is required.
• A thorough knowledge of cost analysis for products and services to facilitate better decision making in product creation and procurement is required
• Change management and project management experience gained e.g. in lean manufacturing, six sigma programs, new product developments, consulting is considered a plus
• Understanding of suppliers, business models, key drivers, measures and priorities
• Strong teaming skills to drive change and challenge project teams, strong negotiation and communication skills
• Fluent in English and Mandarin

Travelling approximately 25% (regionally).

The location of this position will be in Kuala Lumpur.
