The Value Chain Development Coordinator is an execution-focused role that supports the delivery of the Mr Price Group’s Value Chain Development (VCD) strategy. Reporting into the Value Chain Development Manager, within the Sustainability team, the role is responsible for coordinating projects, reporting, and cross-functional engagement that enable effective execution across multiple projects across the group, including supplier upgrading, future supplier identification and screening, value chain stakeholder alignment, and sustainable sourcing initiatives. Responsibilities1. Programme & Project Coordination· Coordinate value chain development projects across multiple development areas aligned to the Group’s VCD strategy.
· Maintain project plans, calendars, milestones, and deliverables across concurrent initiatives.
· Coordinate recurring and ad hoc meetings, including preparing agendas, capturing minutes, tracking actions, and following up with relevant stakeholders.
· Support the facilitation of cross-functional collaboration between multiple internal teams and external partners.
· Efficient execution of existing processes whilst proactively identifying and proposing improvement opportunities.
2. Performance Tracking, Analytics & Reporting· Collate metrics, insights, and commentary required for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting into Group governance structures.
· Track progress against key performance measures and project milestones, whilst problem solving and proposing improvement plans with the VCD manager.
· Consolidate inputs from multiple stakeholders into clear, accurate, and structured reporting packs.
3. Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) Programme Facilitation· Coordinate finding, screening, and developing of high potential, future suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
· Support due diligence activities and documentation requirements.
· Administrate the existing supplier development loan programme.
· Coordinate supplier development interventions and track related project spend.
· Ensure process adherence, accurate record-keeping, and readiness for reporting and audit requirements.
4. Value Chain Development Coordination and Administration· Support the facilitation of value chain optimisation projects involving multiple suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Coordinate workshops, diagnostics, site visits, and project engagements as required.
· Track agreed actions, timelines, and outcomes arising from improvement initiatives.
· Assist with the preparation of materials, analyses, and documentation used to support supplier upgrading and performance improvement efforts.
· Facilitate invoice processing and expense tracking based on established group processes.
· Manage and maintain files, folders, contracts, records, and information tracking for multiple projects.
Qualifications· Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, economics, development studies, project management, or similar.
· 3 or more years’ experience in coordination, project management, consulting, and/or development role.
Experience in supplier development, enterprise development, sustainability, consulting, retail, and/or complex cross-functional environments will be advantageous
