About the tasks :

As a Construction Contracts Engineer Assistant, you will be assigned to the Commonwealth LNG project site and integrated into the Technip Energies project team for the entire duration of your VIE assignment. You will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Developing an understanding of the commercial management of Technip Energies' Construction Contracts, with a particular focus on the contracts associated with the Commonwealth LNG project.


  • Assisting the local Contract Manager with the following tasks:
    • Monitoring and responding to change order requests and additional work claims.
    • Managing cost and/or Extension of Time (EOT) claims submitted by or to subcontractors.
    • Monitoring monthly invoicing and payments to subcontractors.
    • Participating in weekly meetings with subcontractors.
    • Preparing monthly construction contracts activity reports.
    • Drafting and preparing contract amendments and change orders.
    • Tracking and managing correspondence related to construction contracts.
    • Coordinating with other project disciplines (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, etc.) to ensure, and where possible anticipate, that subcontractors are able to perform their work without disruption, thereby protecting the company's interests against potential subcontractor claims.


  • Taking an active role in site life, including:
    • Conducting regular site visits.
    • Participating in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) inspections and site walkthroughs.

About your Profile:

  • Currently pursuing a General Engineering degree, with a strong interest in gaining hands-on experience on a major offshore project within the LNG industry.


  • Demonstrates strong analytical and organizational skills, combined with a collaborative mindset and the ability to take initiative.


  • Interested in the contractual, commercial, and financial aspects of project execution, including contract management and commercial negotiations.


  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interactions with a wide range of stakeholders.


  • Able to approach challenges in a thoughtful, structured, and efficient manner.


  • Comfortable working in multicultural environments and collaborating with teams from diverse backgrounds.


  • Highly motivated, resilient, and willing to fully commit to a challenging site-based assignment.


  • Excellent written and spoken English is required.
