The Role

In this role

You will play a key role in understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations to inform ResMed’s product design and development. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to make sure your insights are integrated into the product process and that stakeholders stay focused on the users we serve.

You will plan and conduct research studies, analyze results, and present findings that drive action. You are skilled in user-centered research methods, project planning, collaboration, and sharing insights that influence decisions.

What the role entails

Product Team Influence

  • Develop research plans with clear objectives, participant screeners, moderator guides, recruiting strategies, and timelines

  • Share research findings with product, design, and executive teams in ways that support decisions

  • Provide regular project updates, including status, blockers, and open questions

  • Recommend appropriate research methods and tools based on stakeholder goals

  • Work with Product Managers to forecast and prioritize research needs

Organizational Influence

  • Join cross-functional initiatives, representing the user voice and helping to drive continuous improvement

  • Build user empathy across the organization through readouts and direct feedback

Market Influence

  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in UX research

  • Align your work with the broader product vision to help shape future market direction

What you bring to the role

Empathy and User Advocacy
You center users in your work. You understand their experiences, emotions, and motivations, and you make sure others understand them too. You use interviews, surveys, and usability tests to uncover what matters most.

Analytical Thinking

·         You are confident in both qualitative and quantitative methods and know when to use each. You turn findings into clear, actionable insights that guide decisions.

Communication and Collaboration

·         You present insights in a clear and engaging way. You work closely with cross-functional teams to make sure research findings lead to meaningful improvements.

Technical Proficiency

·         You know how to select and use research tools to manage studies, analyze data, and communicate results. You apply these tools effectively in your day-to-day work.

Creativity

·         You try new approaches when needed and adapt your communication for different audiences. You help your team explore fresh ways to apply research in their work.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of UX research experience, ideally in health tech or regulated industries

  • Comfortable conducting research in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

  • Portfolio that shows past research work and deliverables

  • Experience with tools such as UserZoom, UserTesting, Qualtrics, Confluence, and Miro

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field

  • Willingness and ability to travel within the US and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in healthcare or medical devices

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: $103,000.00 - $155,000.00 USD Annual
