THE OPPORTUNITY:
We're seeking a UX Research Lead to transform TechInsights' design practice from execution to strategic impact. You'll drive evidence-based product decisions by combining advanced research methodologies, AI-enhanced practices, and behavioral data analysis to uncover insights that fuel growth and retention. Working closely with our Growth and Engagement team, you'll analyze telemetry, conduct scalable usability testing, and translate findings into measurable product improvements. This is equal parts practitioner and practice-builder: you'll execute rigorous research while mentoring designers, establishing research frameworks, and championing evidence-based decision making across the organization. If you thrive at connecting user experience to business outcomes and building research capabilities from the ground up, this role is your opportunity to prove the strategic power of UX research.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Define and drive UX research strategy across product lines, partnering with Product, Design, and Leadership to influence roadmaps and champion the voice of the user in executive forums and strategic decisions.
  • Lead end-to-end research projects employing diverse methodologies including usability testing, participatory design, heuristic evaluations, benchmarking, and surveys to clarify ambiguous problems and uncover innovation opportunities.
  • Leverage AI-powered workflows to accelerate research planning, recruitment, and synthesis while ensuring findings translate into actionable design requirements and strategic recommendations.
  • Analyze behavioral data and telemetry with the Growth and Engagement team to identify friction points, retention drivers, and opportunities for measurable business impact.
  • Transform insights into compelling stories through personas, journey maps, and narratives that connect user needs to business metrics, facilitating workshops and discussions that build alignment across teams and leadership.
  • Establish scalable research practices by creating frameworks, templates, and playbooks that increase efficiency and mature organizational capabilities.
  • Mentor designers and researchers in evidence-based methods while staying current with emerging methodologies, particularly AI-enhanced practices, to elevate the overall design practice.

WHO YOU ARE

Experience & Education
  • 6+ years of UX research experience in enterprise or complex digital platforms, with demonstrated impact on product strategy and business outcomes
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Information Science, or related field—or equivalent applied experience
Technical Expertise
  • Expertise across research methodologies including usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies, surveys, card sorting, heuristic evaluations, and competitive benchmarking
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills to transform complex data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency with research tools and platforms for usability testing, surveys, analytics, visualization, and AI-enhanced workflows
Leadership & Communication
  • Exceptional storytelling abilities to craft compelling narratives and presentations that influence executives and cross-functional partners
  • Proven collaboration skills working across Platform, Product, Customer Success, and Leadership teams to drive alignment in ambiguous problem spaces
  • Experience building research capabilities through mentoring, codifying best practices, and creating scalable frameworks
Values & Mindset
  • Deep commitment to inclusive and ethical research practices, including user-centered design principles, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), participant confidentiality, and data privacy
  • Forward-thinking mindset that anticipates industry shifts, benchmarks against competitors, and connects current insights to future growth and innovation opportunities.
