Actian’s Customer Experience (CX) Team exists to provide exceptional experiences for our customers by helping them realize the value and success from working with Actian’s products and services. The CX team designs and delivers quality experiences by turning customer needs and user insights into actionable ideas to help them solve their business challenges through the Actian Cloud Data Platform.
The CX Team
As one of the divisions within the CX team, the Experience Design Team at Actian is a highly multidisciplinary group consisting of UX and UI designers, and Content Strategist. We are at the forefront of creating simple and intuitive user experience designs that enhance the lives of our end users. Our goal is to build effortless designs that enable customers and users to innovate their solutions easily and quickly.
Currently, we are actively seeking a UX Design intern to create interaction design patterns and components to simplify our user experience. You'll work with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to collect data, conduct research, understand user goals, and explore and improve solutions.
This is an exciting new role with opportunity for growth within the HCL Software Data & Analytics portfolio. The Experience Strategy team will play an important role reshaping how we deliver the customer experience and grow our presence in the cloud data management market.

Your primary focus will be on enhancing the user experience by simplifying interaction design patterns, components, and illustration skills. Responsibilities
- Gain insights into our users' domain, workflows, and challenges to drive effective design decisions.
- Create both low-fidelity and high-fidelity interaction design patterns and components, collaborating actively with teammates to craft innovative and user-friendly prototypes.
- Continually enhance designs based on feedback from peers, user research, usability tests, analytics data, and other relevant sources.
- Clearly communicate and justify design choices to stakeholders, ensuring they grasp the user-centered approach guiding our product decisions.

Nice to haves
- Only candidates with an online portfolio will be considered. The portfolio should represent candidates’ skills with elegantly designed visual concepts and solutions.
- Highly detail-oriented with an exceptional eye for visual design and typography.
- Curious about whether each design state adds value to users and can push the boundary of design and iterate on design based on feedback.
- Proficiency in brainstorming and conceptualizing ideas, creating storyboards, being skilled in illustration, and putting together interactive prototypes.
- A strong passion for creating simple and intuitive user interfaces and interactions.
- Ability to closely work with cross-functional team members to achieve common design goals.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
