UX Intern

This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Products team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on-the-job learning. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.

Responsibilities and Duties:         

• Collaborate with the design team to create wireframes and interactive prototypes for B2B and B2B2C cloud software and mobile applications.
• Assist in identifying and documenting Ul bugs to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and ideation processes to develop innovative UX designs.
• Work closely with senior designers to implement design feedback and iterate on design solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in product design to enhance design quality.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Design, HCl, or related field and returning back to school in the Fall. Preference will be given to Juniors or Seniors and those with previous internship or work experience.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Strong understanding of UX principles and methodologies.
• Ability to create high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Passion for user-centered design and problem-solving.
• Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

There are different ranges applied to specific locations. The average base pay range (or OTE range for sales) in the U.S. for the position is listed below.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

27.60 - 34.50 USD Hourly

All Other Locations:

24.00 - 30.00 USD Hourly
