Everforth ECS is seeking a UX Designer to work in the National Capital Region covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP separates business and financial data from operational warfighting data, aiming to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
• The UX Designer leads user interface design and experience engineering efforts across WDP's multi-classification environments, translating complex mission workflows into intuitive, accessible, and visually coherent interfaces that serve warfighters, analysts, and senior DoW decision-makers. This role operates at the intersection of human-centered design and enterprise platform engineering, directly contributing to WDP's mission of reducing user friction and driving platform adoption at scale.
• Designs, architects, and advances user interface components for the War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration Platform across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
• Develops interactive prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity design artifacts using platforms such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Axure to translate mission workflows into intuitive user experiences.
• Builds and maintains enterprise design systems, component libraries, and UI pattern standards aligned with War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration visual frameworks, platform engineering requirements, and cross-enclave technical constraints.
• Conducts structured design reviews, synthesizes stakeholder feedback, and iterates on design concepts to elevate usability, reduce cognitive load, and strengthen operational clarity for enterprise dashboards, mission spaces, navigation structures, and data visualization interfaces.
• Collaborates with software engineers and front-end developers during Agile sprints to define implementation-ready specifications, interaction models, style guidelines, and accessibility compliance requirements aligned with Section 508 and DoW UX standards.
• Validates designs through usability testing by preparing testable prototypes, capturing qualitative and quantitative responses, and generating design improvement recommendations.
• Produces UI specifications, design documentation, workflow diagrams, and interface mappings that guide multi-classification implementation efforts.
• Identifies metrics and contributes to measurable improvements in user task efficiency, error reduction, and adoption of War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration Platform capabilities across all enclaves.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• 3–10 years of experience in UX design, user interface engineering, human-centered design, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated portfolio of enterprise application or data platform design work.
• Proficiency with modern UX design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Axure, with demonstrated experience building and maintaining design systems, component libraries, and high-fidelity prototypes for complex, data-intensive applications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
