Position Overview: Responsible for management of the selling and procuring of capacity, maintaining contractual sourcing contact list and contractual relationships. Will leverage internal and external relationships to procure capacity and provide it to USPS Contract Officers. Develop strong sales and data collecting skills to then apply to USPS shipping network for short and long term business success.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, establish and maintain relationships with carriers in the truckload marketplace to support USPS business
Identify, source and procure new carrier relationships
Develop and identify carrier network patterns and match them to the United States Postal network
Screen carriers for safety, security, and performance that are in line with the USPS Carrier Requirements
Utilize data driven resources to make informed buying decisions
Collaborate with carrier sales leaders to ensure alignment on carrier facing strategy and relationships
Navigate Echo’s proprietary software to manage daily operational load management tasks
Prospecting and selling for short and long term carrier capacity to drive increase in spot and contracted business
Turn carrier contacts into data capacity, collect the short & long term capacity, premium capacity, maintain list and contacts
Negotiate with sales contacts on long term contracts when appropriate
Responsible for carrier facing communication for internal USPS contracts - when awards are won, awarding carriers with capacity
Manage and ensure high level carrier performance on USPS shipments and contracts
Interacts with management upon securing large volume awards to obtain contractual coverage via carrier-facing sourcing events
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Bachelors degree
2-3 years relevant industry experience and TL knowledge
2-3 years experience at Echo
Ability to navigate Echo's proprietary systems
Demonstrated experience selling within the industry
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Experience using MS Power Point, Excel, Word, & Tableau.
Carrier and Customer facing experience
Analytical and reporting experience a plus
Self-managed and motivated
Organized and detail oriented
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
