At Frontiers, we build digital products used by researchers, institutions, and partners worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Interaction Designer to join our Madrid team and take ownership of end-to-end user experiences — from first sketch to shipped product and beyond.
You will work at the intersection of design, research, and strategy, turning complex problems into clear, intuitive experiences that deliver real value for users and the business.
You will be responsible for planning, designing, and refining the user experience of our digital products throughout the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and refine the user experience for digital products across the full product lifecycle.
Lead end-to-end interaction design, translating ideas and requirements into user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interfaces using tools such as Figma.
Advocate for and implement user-centred design principles, ensuring consistent and scalable solutions.
Conduct user research using qualitative and quantitative methods, analyse findings, and iterate designs based on evidence and user feedback.
Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to clarify product and user needs.
Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, acting as a change agent for user-centred design within the team.
Deliver high-quality design and research outputs independently and support the broader UX team.
Requirements:
3–5 years' experience in interaction design, UX, or frontend development.
Relevant education background in Interaction Design, User Experience, Psychology, Ergonomics, or a comparable field.
Strong skills and experience in interaction design, user research methods.
Ability to plan and organize user research sessions from recruitment to reporting.
Proficient in Figma for interface design and prototyping.
Familiar with basic web technologies (HTML, CSS) to collaborate effectively with engineers.
Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to work both in the team and independently.
Learning mindset: open to learning from colleagues, stakeholders, and users.
