About the role

Think insurance is boring? We’re about to change your mind. At Intact Lab, insurance is fast-paced, innovative and fun (yeah, you read that right)! Intact Lab is the digital innovation hub of Intact, one of Canada’s top employers. This means we have the funding for cutting-edge technology and the freedom to create products that don’t exist yet but should. That’s where the fun comes in.

We are looking for a User Experience Designer to join our growing team! You will bring your business and system understanding along with a human-centered approach to our products and services. You are an expert facilitator in collecting requirements from a user perspective, you enjoy identifying how data and processes can be improved to generate efficiency, and you are comfortable collaborating with multiple experts in a large company. Your mission is to demystify complex problems to design and help bring to life delightful digital experiences throughout both customer and employee journeys.

What you’ll do here:

  • Create and facilitate workshops to engage stakeholders and gather requirements with a user-centered mindset.

  • Collaborate with user experience designers to document and communicate requirements.

  • Produce artifacts such as sketches, processes, and service blueprints to create a shared understanding of the experience.

  • Develop reports to communicate ideas, secure stakeholder buy-in, and inspire teams at all levels, from peers to executives.

  • Develop functional prototypes in collaboration with user experience designers to test and validate solutions for refinement.

  • Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to support the roll-out of initiatives through experimentation, testing, and refinement based on learnings.

  • Empathize with and lead stakeholders and customers through the innovation journey.

  • Advocate for customer-centricity throughout the organization.

What you bring to the table:

  • At least 7 years of experience in business analysis, service design, and/or user experience analysis for complex applications.

  • Experience in identifying requirements and/or analyzing solutions for internal applications or systems.

  • A strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and can zoom in and out.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities.

  • Analytical, curious, and creative.

  • Proactive, comfortable working within a self-directed culture, and navigating ambiguity.

  • A patient listener, effective communicator, engaging presenter, and compelling storyteller.

  • Comfortable interacting at different levels within the organization, from peers to senior management.

  • Many examples in your portfolio that showcase your process in communicating analysis with a user-centered mindset.

  • Expertise in facilitation and user experience analysis methodology.

  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and can give and receive constructive feedback.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

  • Bilingualism required (French / English) – Bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
