Used Car Manager – Gwinnett Place Nissan

Gwinnett Place Nissan, the fastest-growing Nissan dealership in the Atlanta metro area, is seeking an experienced and highly driven Used Car Manager to lead and expand our pre-owned operation.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands that used-car success is built through disciplined acquisition, accurate appraisals, aggressive inventory management, strong merchandising, and consistent execution. We need a proven operator who can grow volume, increase gross profit, and maintain a healthy inventory—not someone who manages from behind a desk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of used-car sales volume, gross profit, inventory turn, and overall departmental performance
  • Appraise trades accurately and competitively while protecting dealership profitability
  • Acquire inventory through trades, auctions, service-lane opportunities, direct purchases, and other sourcing channels
  • Maintain the right inventory mix based on market demand, price points, and sales history
  • Manage aging aggressively with a firm 45-day turn strategy
  • Price and reprice inventory consistently using current market data
  • Minimize wholesale losses, aged-inventory exposure, and unnecessary write-downs
  • Ensure vehicles move quickly through inspection, reconditioning, photography, and online merchandising
  • Increase Nissan Certified Pre-Owned volume and maintain all CPO requirements
  • Desk and close deals while balancing volume, gross profit, customer experience, and compliance
  • Coach the sales team on used-car product knowledge, value presentation, trade acquisition, and closing
  • Monitor daily performance, inventory aging, appraisal effectiveness, wholesale results, and departmental expenses
  • Partner with sales, service, F&I, and internet leadership to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction, vehicle quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide clear reporting and actionable plans to the General Manager
Qualifications
  • Proven experience successfully managing a high-volume used-car department
  • Strong appraisal, purchasing, pricing, merchandising, and inventory-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to grow volume while maintaining front-end and total gross profit
  • Experience with auctions, online acquisition platforms, and market-based pricing tools
  • Strong desking, closing, coaching, and leadership abilities
  • Nissan and Certified Pre-Owned experience preferred
  • Strong financial understanding of inventory investment, turn, aging, wholesale performance, and departmental profitability
  • Excellent communication, organization, and accountability
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Availability to work dealership hours, including evenings and weekends
What We Offer
  • Competitive, performance-based compensation
  • Established dealership with strong growth and market opportunity
  • Large customer base and consistent trade-in opportunities
  • Supportive senior leadership with a clear commitment to growing the used-car operation
  • Medical, dental, vision, and other available benefits
  • Career advancement opportunities

If you are a competitive, accountable used-car professional who knows how to find inventory, turn it quickly, develop a team, and produce consistent results, we want to speak with you.
