Job Overview:  

To assist the TruckStore used Sales and Procurement Manager in all aspects of the operations, of the used department, with particular emphasis on asset and pricing management, accurately valuating and pricing of trade-ins, as well as ensuring maximum return on investment and optimum customer satisfaction in compliance to the Company's Integrity, Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy, Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality requirements and to perform delegated SHERQ tasks and duties & to inform superior about deviations. 

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

Vehicle Valuation

  • Ensure that valuation requests received by the dealer network are accurately and fully completed on the DTSUSed Online platform. 

  • Consult current and old pricing databases as well as internet and other sources to calculate an accurate value based on Truck Store standards.

  • Verify vehicles inspections to ensure compliance with original appraisal, test drive vehicles to ensure there are no mechanical faults as well as complete a visual check of the entire vehicle and assess if damaged.

  • Keep an accurate record and storage system for monitoring, tracking and follow up of all vehicle evaluations.

  • Attend to walk in customers and telephonic enquiries promptly and efficiently. 

 

 Asset Management/Stock Sourcing

  • Developing appropriate pricing strategies which are in line with the current market trends.

  • Ability to collect, interpret and apply relevant data to make informed and effective pricing decisions.

  • Remain current with regards to reconditioning costs and ensure activities are aligned. 

  • Maintain data base of customers who have accepted appraisals and that have not yet arrived.

  • Ensure that no decisions on stock sourcing/stock mixing are made without written approval according to the DOA.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Matric (Grade 12) with a relevant qualification in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent).

  • Valid driver’s license (code 14 & PDP).

     

Experience

  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.

 

Special Knowledge

  • Technical and product knowledge of all Commercial Vehicles.

  • Technical qualification Excel essential.

  • Product specification and features (Truck segment).

  • Competitor analysis and trends.

  • Product introduction.

  • Vehicle ordering system.

  • Strong Leadership experience and experience in working in international and intercultural teams and the ability to reveal ongoing efficiency and effectiveness with the team.

  • Demonstrates detailed knowledge of the relevant local legislation (NCA, FICA, FSCA, POPI etc.).

Skills Required
