We are one of the Largest Auto Groups in the country and a place where painful sales experiences are a thing of the past. Our Used Car Sales Director will develop and mentor Salespeople staff while directing the service activities of the dealership.  Performs duties such as managing all vehicle sales processes, achieving optimal vehicle sales volumes and profit objectives, and ensuring that each customer is treated as an individual, with care and respect.  Complete these tasks personally or through subordinates.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 4 years of Automotive Sales Management work experience
  • Toyota Experience Preferred
  • Must be used to managing high volume of 150+ units a month.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read and comprehend job-related instructions and information whether electronic or paper-based.  Deals creatively and logically with any problems that arise, while expressing empathy for customers and their problems.

  • Teamwork – ability to work with others to effectively enhance results or processes
  • Interpersonal Skills – the ability to interact and communicate well with employees and customers at all levels, socially poised

**The pay scale above is the compensation range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, relevant education and/or training, and performance related bonuses and incentives. 

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Achieve forecasted goals and objectives for the department.
  • Maintain CSI above national average.
  • Maintain sales efficiency above 100% of manufacture requirement.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, develop, and hold accountable all members of the sales team.
  • Prepare a monthly and annual budget and plan to meet goals and objectives.
  • Follow company guidelines and protect the legal welfare of the company by:
    • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
    • Process all paperwork required by federal, state, and local laws.
    • Review deal files and documents related to federal, state, and county law for completeness and accuracy.
    • Conduct training meetings for salespeople and sales managers regarding the portion of their job that relates to the legal handling and processing of documents and how that relates to federal, state, local laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with other department managers to ensure cooperation and teamwork throughout the dealership.
  • Attend and participate in weekly manager meetings to review objectives, tracking numbers and safety/compliance issues.
  • Direct Garff Management Routines for the Sales Department
  • Create schedule for sales department employees
  • Hold daily one-on-one planning and review meetings with each sales manager/team leader to review their current team goals, performance and plans.
  • Develop and organize a training schedule, as directed by the GM, to ensure that each sales person receives sales training and/or role-playing sessions daily.
  • Guide sales manager and assist them in setting their short and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Assist sales managers in developing programs of improvement for those sales people who are failing to reach their objectives.
  • Assist customers in the purchase process when necessary
  • Ensure all sales people adhere to Company Values and take corrective action when necessary
  • Recommend to the GM the new and used vehicle inventory to be carried.
  • Teach, train and ensure that the sales team is following up with all leads per company standards
  • Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
