We’re looking for a dynamic communications leader with the ability to influence, drive meaningful results, and communicate complex information in a simple and compelling manner. This leader should be adept at working through complexity, handling multiple initiatives, and collaborating effectively with C-suite executives and partners, as well as driving consistently high performance in teams.
As a Communications Executive Director in US Wealth Management and member of the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Communications leadership team, you will be in a high-performing team that communicates with honesty, authenticity and empathy. You will report to the Head of Content and Communications for J.P. Morgan Wealth Management and partner with senior executives, partners and peers across Consumer & Community Banking and JPMorganChase.
Job responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive communications strategy that supports business priorities and objectives
- In partnership with the Head of Communications and Content, serve as strategic communications counsel to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management CEO
- Define and oversee external media relations, including PR campaigns focused on new initiatives and developments, as well as ongoing media relations, press events and executive visibility
- Develop, present and execute strategic and tactical communications/public relations campaigns that drive brand visibility, affinity and consideration
- Develop and implement executive communications strategies that support business objectives and deepen employee engagement
- Play a key role in the planning and execution of internal communications activities, including town halls, offsites, site visits, employee events and recognition activities
- Oversee management of communications/PR agency on campaign execution and measurement
- Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm- both externally and among employees
- Work closely with our Field Communications team to ensure messaging across home and field offices is consistent
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 12+ years of experience in a communications/PR role
- Ability to develop and implement cohesive and effective communication strategies that resonate with key audiences.
- Ability to research and distill data and financial information, write and design presentations in PowerPoint and prepare talking points, scripts and other communication tools for senior leaders
- Excellent writing and editing abilities and verbal communications skills, with demonstrated ability to influence C-suite leaders
- Proven experience in proactive and reactive media relations, and execution of public relations campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage and support business results
- Deep media relations expertise with strong relationships across business, finance and lifestyle media, and fluency across social media and other multi-media channels
- Experience directly supporting senior executives with external and internal communications
- Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company and effectively managing and growing direct reports
- Experience leading high-performing teams that deliver consistently strong results and experience with applying measurement tools to demonstrate success
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and keep deliverables on track / flag potential delays
- High level of integrity, demonstrating respect for a diversity of opinions and styles and for taking accountability for actions and results
- Solutions-minded and outcomes oriented with negotiation and influencing skills
