What do we need

We are looking for a US Payroll Specialist, you will actively participate in ensuring a timely, accurate, and efficient payment for all employees. As the US Payroll specialist you will communicate with a wide variety of people such internal employees, finance team as well as external partners to ensure accurate payrolls, and have the opportunity to learn payroll processing for other countries!

In this role you will get to: 

  • Partner with OSV using Workday Payroll to ensure payments, taxes, garnishments, etc. are correctly processed and open issues via tickets are managed and resolved in a timely manner. 
  • Process prorations for New Hires, Leavers, and Workers on Leave. 
  • Liaise with OSV and agents to register employees in new states and locations and understand any filing requirements that are necessary. 
  • Manage the updates of earnings codes, deduction codes, memo codes, payroll calendars, payroll schedules, holiday calendars, pay run categories, banking information, special pay runs, retroactive payments, one-time payments, time off balances, and GL data. 
  • Ensure timekeeping system and data is updating payroll correctly, adjustments are made if required, and balances are showing properly on pay slips. 
  • Partner with the internal Workday configuration expert to research, track, and troubleshoot technical payroll system issues, escalate where needed, and confirm integrations are running without error. 
  • Work closely with Global Payroll Manager to ensure reviews of payroll processing are conducted, best practices are being followed, and payroll is in compliance. 
  • Perform payroll analysis, including per-pay period, quarterly, and year-end audits that ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll and the correct processing of payroll related data. 
  • Build relationships with other departments such as Finance or Benefit teams, to support on audits or reporting
  • Shadow processes of the ROW (Rest of World) Payroll Specialist and act as backup when needed as well as training ROW Payroll Specialist on US processes to backup. 
  • Participate in Workday trainings and other payroll specific trainings.

We are looking for people who are APA Certified Payroll Professional, PHR, SPHR Certified or equivalent and have 2-4 years of experience in Workday Payroll processing. You will have a passion for the nitty gritty of payroll, be able to work to deadlines and company polices to ensure accurate pay runs for the business and our employees

The key skills we are looking for:

  • Workday payroll & OSV
  • Payroll taxes, deductions and other deduction or payments such as sales commissions
  • Jira service desk or similar service management tools
  • Strong knowledge of G-Suite & Microsoft Office

You may also have

  • Global payroll experience (such as UK, New Zealand or other European countries)
  • 401K

Starting Base Pay Range

$68,114.21$80,134.37 CAD
