Purpose
The Natwest Markets US Middle Office supports the US Trading, Sales, and Capital Markets business areas. The team performs activities across transaction control, managing client and sales queries, broker and trading queries, US Treasury auctions, regulatory reporting support and reconciliation controls. The primary functions of the role are to perform the daily operation of key controls and supervision of offshored functions. The role provides daily trade support for the regional Fixed Income trading desks across an array of products.
What you will do:
- Collaborate closely with traders, salespeople, and operations teams to deliver high-quality operational support for regional and global clients.
- Provide daily trade support for Fixed Income trading desks, ensuring accurate trade capture, reconciliation, and resolution of breaks across products such as US Treasuries and Corporate Bonds.
- Supervise offshore teams performing reconciliations, trade allocations, and other time-sensitive tasks, ensuring timely and accurate output.
- Partner with front office, compliance, finance, technology, and other global teams to resolve queries and maintain seamless operational workflows.
- Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting, including FINRA TRACE and other applicable requirements, maintaining full compliance with relevant rules and policies.
- Maintain and update comprehensive documentation of procedures, processes, and controls to ensure consistency and operational integrity.
- Design and analyze Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across onshore and offshore teams.
- Share subject matter expertise to train and support team members, fostering operational excellence and knowledge development.
- Identify control gaps and inefficiencies, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and reduce costs.
- Escalate potential risk and control issues in a timely manner to ensure proactive resolution and risk mitigation.
- Contribute to regional and global projects aligned with the firm’s strategic goals, collaborating across teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
What you will need:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Middle Office or related investment banking operations roles.
- Strong understanding of Fixed Income products (US Treasuries, Corporate bonds) and exchange traded derivatives
- Proven experience supervising offshore or third-party operational activities and teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and a passion for solving complex problems.
- Strong technical skills with understanding of the basics of bond math, Excel and relevant industry systems, experience with FINRA TRAQS and Bloomberg.
- Expert-level understanding of fixed income trade lifecycle and front to back operations processes including key elements of trade capture, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across business areas.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new processes and technologies.
The expected base annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 at the start of employment. This is not a guarantee of compensation. The exact compensation is determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on skills, experience, training licensure, certifications and location.
