Job Description

Checkout.com is looking for a Director of Financial Control – Americas to join our growing Finance team reporting to the Senior Director of Financial and Management reporting.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join a rapidly expanding global company. The role is in a multi layered global finance team and will be a central point for finance in the rapidly expanding Americas region.

We're looking for a great leader with a willingness to be hands-on, someone that is self-motivated with excellent communication skills. You'll be the first Financial Controller for the Checkout.com entity in the Americas and join a growing global controller team that is building a more controlled and best in class environment. The role owns and prepares the entities management accounts, financial information for regulatory state filings and exams, plays a central role in regional financial audits and supports other functions across Checkout.com to ensure all entities remain compliant.

How you'll make an impact:

• Be the first person in the Americas finance team, being responsible to grow the team as required
• Responsibility for the monthly accounting for legal entities in the US/Americas region
• Responsible for IFRS financial reporting of the entities, reporting to the corporate accounting function in the UK
• Responsible for US GAAP conversion for local US financial and regulatory reporting
• Responsible for the preparation of regulatory returns and submissions in the US region (state specific)
• Alongside numerous teams, including treasury and compliance ensure the entities remain compliant with all regulations
• Own the creation of the annual financial statements and own the audit therein
• Own the corporate cash flow management processes to ensure sufficient funding is available to meet business needs
• Be the Financial Control point of contact for further expansion in the America’s region
• Managing external stakeholders such as regulators, auditors and service providers
• Participate in local or global ad hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

Successful candidates will bring a strong accounting and financial control background. A candidate with experience in building financial reporting and control functions is preferred as well as having the high level of integrity demanded in an enterprise that operates in a complex, highly regulated environment.

• Experience in scaling finance teams and a financial career spanning 10-15 years
• Deep experience delivering financial reporting and delivering audits across multiple jurisdictions
• Experience working in a fast growing financial services multinational company including leading accounting and audit activities
• Excellent stakeholder manager, comfortable being a leader in finance and liaising with numerous stakeholders across Checkout.com and external providers
• Up-to-date technical skills and confident in preparing IFRS and US GAAP financial statements
• Experience with Money Transfer License or banking regulations a benefit
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly motivated and able to work towards tight deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
• Chartered Public Accountant or equivalent

New York City law requires Checkout.com to include in job postings a reasonable estimated salary range for this position. However, final salaries may vary subject to several factors, such as a candidate’s level, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and proficiency for the role. Please note that this information is provided for those in New York City only, and this role is open to candidates outside of New York City as well.
For regular full-time employees in New York City, the estimated base salary range is from 191,317.00 USD - 225,079.00 USD.
