The U.S. COO Summer Internship Program is a 10-week experience designed for rising college seniors interested in strategy, analytics, transformation, business operations, governance, and enterprise execution. Interns will be aligned to a participating area within the U.S. Chief Operating Officer organization and contribute to meaningful business priorities while building foundational knowledge of BMO and the financial services industry.
Throughout the summer, interns will participate in a shared U.S. Banking onboarding experience, complete hands-on work within an assigned business area, connect with leaders and peers, and translate their work into a final stakeholder-ready presentation or recommendation. The current program design includes a shared foundation, functional experience, professional development, networking, and a capstone or final presentation.
The internship is intended to help students apply their academic knowledge, explore potential career pathways, and build skills that may support future consideration for entry-level analyst opportunities or BMO development programs, including the Business & Operations Development Program.

- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across business functions to clarify needs, coordinate activities, and support project outcomes.
- Assist with process improvement, transformation, risk, controls, governance, or change-management activities based on the assigned team.
- Prepare clear, concise, and stakeholder-ready presentations and written communications.
- Participate in professional development, networking, leadership exposure, and broader U.S. Banking learning opportunities.
