This senior-level role is responsible for the strategic planning, delivery, and compliance of all US health and welfare benefit plans, serving approximately 20,000 benefits-eligible employees. The position manages over $250 million in gross medical/RX spending, overseeing relationships with about 12 vendors/carriers, system data feeds, and annual open enrollment. This leader plays a critical part in determining plan design and subsidy strategy for the entire U.S. benefits program.
Manage vendors and consultants to ensure flawless delivery of services to all US plan participants (~20k in total)
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues (claims, file feeds issues, compliance) - ensure flawless service delivery to the organization
Identify and drive operational synergies between within the organization
With COE lead, design impactful communications for participants to highlight changes, annual benefits enrollment, new programs
Oversee testing, data management and delivery of the annual benefits enrollment
Ensure close collaboration with the HR community, HR Ops, BSC and all key internal stakeholders
Ensure plans comply with all Federal and state statutes and requirements
Participate in and contribute to strategic plan design, subsidy and related annual changes - ensure changes are then implemented with accuracy
Set of tone of operational excellence - ensure external providers are meeting delivery expectations
Understand emerging trends and offer design / process changes accordingly
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position
Minimum of 5 to 8 years managing sophisticated benefit plans, platforms, and integrated systems; including at least 3 years in a supervisory leadership capacity
Comprehensive technical expertise regarding health and welfare plan structures and financial modeling
In-depth proficiency with benefit administration systems, electronic data feeds, and technical troubleshooting
Solid understanding of payroll processes specifically concerning employee benefit deductions
Proven ability to evaluate the fiscal impact of plan design adjustments for both the company and our employees
Advanced knowledge of Workday, encompassing reporting, data integrity, and managing interfaces with multiple external carriers
