The Upholsterer is responsible for applying fabric, leather, or other materials to chair components, ensuring a high-quality, durable, and visually appealing finished product. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and skill in fabric handling, cutting, and attachment.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Cut and attach fabric, leather, or synthetic materials to chair seats, backs, and armrests
- Assemble upholstered components and attach them securely to chair frames
- Stretch and fit materials smoothly to ensure a clean, finished appearance
- Use hand tools, staples, tacks, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively
- Inspect materials for defects prior to and during assembly
- Repair or replace damaged or defective upholstery components
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and quality specifications
- Collaborate with other production team members to maintain workflow and production targets
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE
- Any other duties assigned
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous upholstery or furniture manufacturing experience required
- Skilled in fabric handling, cutting, and fastening
- Ability to read work instructions, measurements, and simple diagrams
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Must be 18 years old

- Ability to listen to directions and follow them from managers and team members
