Department OverviewSoftware Upgrade Operations team is committed to providing the Motorola Solutions Public safety customers the best possible experience while ensuring all upgrade activities are done correctly and promptly. The team is responsible for planning and executing software upgrades for PremiereOne CAD, Records and Mobile. The team works closely with CMSO, SI deployment and other Implementation teams to support Upgrades, deployments and customer hardware refresh.
Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Present new features to customers prior to upgrades
  • Coordinate customer installs with Project managers, and various support teams
  • Identify process changes required to support RMS upgrades in new releases
  • Perform Functional validation testing following upgrades
  • Characterize and document issues found post upgrade on customer systems
  • Complete upgrades on customer systems as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Pre or Post sales engineering, solutions engineering or technical support
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Knowledge in networking concepts and SQL databases
  • Experience with Windows System Administration
  • Analytical mindset that can dig into client and technical needs
  • Solid oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and customers
  • Capable of obtaining security clearance for customer upgrades
  • Knowledge of PremierOne CAD, records or CAD interfaces a plus

This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the US.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
