Position Overview
We are looking for a Junior Unix Engineer with 1-3 years of experience or equivalent internship experience. The role involves supporting Unix/Linux environments, assisting in system maintenance, and collaborating with senior engineers to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Unix/Linux servers
- Monitor system performance and escalate issues as needed
- Apply system patches and updates under supervision
- Support application deployments on Unix/Linux platforms
- Write basic scripts for automation and routine tasks
- Maintain documentation of system configurations and procedures
- Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams
- 1-3 years of Unix/Linux system administration experience or relevant internship
- Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and commands
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Python, or Perl)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.)
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Desire to grow into Mid-Level Unix Engineer responsibilities
