The University Relations Manager at Altium is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with universities and students in India, promoting their educational initiatives, and expanding their presence in academic institutions. This includes driving account expansion, responding to leads, attending trade shows, and facilitating support for student teams and scholarship programs.

About the Opportunity: 

Altium leads multiple education initiatives to support and empower the next generation of electronics engineers. The Altium Student Lab offers free Altium Designer Pro licenses for college and university students. The Altium Educator Center provides educators with free essential tools, training and resources to teach professional electronics design skills to ensure that students receive a solid introduction to electronics with hands-on PCB design experience. 

The University Relations Manager is responsible for creating relationships with Key Universities and Students throughout India. The goal is to make Altium and Altium 365 the tool of choice for educators and students in India. To achieve that goal, the University Relations Manager will be promoting the Altium Student Lab and the Altium Educator Center, which are both free of charge in India. This is an exciting opportunity to support a significant number of Professors and Students throughout India.

A Day in The Life of Our University Relations Manager:

  • Develop universities/college leads in India for the Educator Center 
  • Drive University account expansion to reach goals and KPIs
  • Account development with Professors at key Universities to expand Altium programs and establish Altium-branded labs
  • Respond to all incoming leads from the Educator Center landing page and marketing campaigns
  • Attend Education trade shows
  • Support outreach to students and student organizations 
  • Support sponsorship of University teams (ie: Robotics, Racing) by providing free software and support
  • Supporting the Global and Women Scholarship Program
  • Support the Train the Trainer Program within Universities

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:

  • 3-5 years experience in business development, sales, or relationship management
  • Experience selling to or creating relationships with Universities/Colleges preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external resources to develop strategies that help meet department goals
  • Exceptional time management skills to prioritize and organize details
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Fluent in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent programs
  • Candidate must live in or near Bangalore and be willing to be in the office at least three days per week
