Optalis of Leonard is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager who is passionate about leadership, quality care, and team development. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to play a key role in shaping resident outcomes, staff success, and unit culture.
As a Unit Manager, you’ll provide both clinical leadership and operational oversight, ensuring high standards of care while supporting and developing your nursing team.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support nursing care delivery for an assigned unit or clinical area
Oversee the full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in alignment with state Nurse Practice Act standards
Partner with interdisciplinary teams to promote resident-centered care, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes
Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to promote growth, accountability, and excellence
Ensure nursing systems, workflows, and procedures are implemented effectively
Serve as a key point of communication for residents, families, and care teams
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise CNAs and nursing staff with a focus on education, support, and consistency
Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of nursing staff
Monitor performance, provide coaching, and address corrective actions when needed
Assist with staffing coordination, including coverage for absences
Contribute to a respectful, professional, and team-oriented work environment
What We’re Looking For
Active Nurse license (RN/LPN) in the state of Michigan
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Minimum 2 years Nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
A team-first mindset with a passion for mentoring others
