Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced Unit-Based Nurse Educator to support 6 Central, our 38-bed Transplant Unit.
This highly specialized unit cares for patients undergoing:
· Liver and kidney transplants
· Urology procedures
· Colorectal surgeries
· Bariatric surgeries
In this role, you will play a key part in advancing clinical excellence by supporting education, competency, and professional development for nursing staff caring for complex surgical and transplant patients.

Job Description:

Position Overview

The Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides dedicated education and competency support for the 6 Central Transplant Unit.

In this role, you will partner with:

· Nursing leadership

· Physicians

· Interdisciplinary teams

You will support:

· Unit-based orientation

· Ongoing education and competency validation

· Regulatory compliance and quality initiatives

You will also serve as a clinical and educational resource for frontline nursing staff.

What You’ll Do

· Facilitate orientation for new transplant unit nursing staff

· Coordinate and maintain annual education requirements, including regulatory and competency-based training

· Provide education related to transplant care and advanced surgical recovery

· Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development

· Collaborate with leadership to support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives

· Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based practice

· Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning

· Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs

What You’ll Need

Required:

· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

· Active Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing

· Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association

· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

· Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience

Preferred:

· 1 to 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff development

Clinical expertise:

· Experience with:

o Liver and kidney transplants

o Urology procedures

o Colorectal surgeries

o Bariatric surgeries

Pay Range:

$38.11 - $98.23

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
