Leidos is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer to join our SCITES 2 team in Doral, FL.
The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently is looking for a Unified Communications Engineer to work onsite in Doral, Florida and have the opportunity to work in a high-profile IT and Cyber Services program supporting the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) 2 contract. Our customer maintains a highly demanding mission and requires our support to provide expert technical and professional management support to the commands enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. The Unified Communications Engineer will provide direct support to the Program Manager and PMO and play a critical role in the successful execution of the program and support for USSOUTHCOM and the warfighter.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure seamless communication across the organization’s network.
Plan, design, and deploy unified communication solutions, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance.
Integrate various communication platforms and technologies such as voice, video, messaging and collaboration tools.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to unified communications systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Monitor system performance and stability, identify areas for improvement, perform routine maintenance, and implement necessary upgrades and optimizations.
Create and maintain documentation for unified communications systems and proving training to users on how to effectively utilize the tools.
Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and support of unified communication solutions.
Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems to higher-level support teams as needed.
Required Qualifications:
BA degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or master’s with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
Must be a US Citizen and possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience in network infrastructure, information security, or related areas, particularly with voice/telephony infrastructure.
Expertise in various telephony systems (PBX, cloud telephony).
Proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or other unified communication platforms (Zoom, Avaya Aura, etc.).
Strong understanding and experience with VoIP protocols (like SIP), SBCs, and enterprise network fundamentals such as (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, firewalls, and QoS management).
Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues in unified communications environment, including SBCs, PSTN connectivity, and platform integrations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in complex systems.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, including collaborating with other engineers, network administrators, and end-users.
The ability to adapt to new unified communications technologies and quickly learn new platforms, tools, and skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with the customer, team members, and stakeholder.
Strong understanding of and experience in implementing cybersecurity protocols and best practices related to unified communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP
ITIL 4
CompTIA Network+
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
Familiarity with security compliance standards (like STIG remediation)
Experience with cloud-based unified communication solutions such as AWS and Azure
Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash for automation and task management
Clearance Requirement:
Must possess an active TS/SCI at time of consideration.

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
