About the role.
The Underwriting Quality Analyst is responsible for providing objective assurance and advisory services in relation to the company’s underwriting risk management practices. This role will apply a disciplined and unbiased approach in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of key processes and controls while protecting the assets and reputation of PURE Programs. The Underwriting Quality Analyst will report to the Audit Manager and will be based out of our Roswell, GA office.
What you’ll do.
- Assist in the ongoing refinement of the Underwriting Audit function and perform day to day work to evaluate processes and controls to manage operational, technology, and regulatory risks.
- Work with the Underwriting Audit Manager to conduct underwriting audits to identify trends and education opportunities, deliver assessments, report on execution of key underwriting principles in adherence to:
- Authority Statements
- Underwriting Guidelines
- Underwriting Processes/Best Practices
- Contractual Obligations with our Partner Carriers
- Rates, Terms, Conditions
- Develop and maintain tools to collect and track audit results and refine existing audit processes.
- Initiate requests to create or update Underwriting Best Practices, Guidelines or procedures based on audit findings.
- Identify and communicate process improvement areas and alternative underwriting approaches.
- Partner with UW Excellence and UW team leadership to communicate and advise on opportunities to address education gaps within Programs Underwriting.
- Provide strategic advice to management using underwriting audit skills that help preserve or improve enterprise value.
What we’re looking for.
- Individuals that demonstrate integrity and establish trust through credibility.
- Internal audit and/or insurance underwriting experience; high net worth insurance experience a plus
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with a desire to learn, grow and drive improvement.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate issues and findings that influence improvements to internal controls and processes.
- Proficiency in PC applications, with ability to develop and apply spreadsheets, database and research tools.
The base salary for this role can range from $65K - $85K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
