Position Summary:
The Underwriting Assistant will provide essential administrative and technical support to our underwriters, helping to ensure the efficient processing of new and renewal business. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and eager to develop their career in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist underwriters with gathering, validating, and inputting data for new business, renewals, and endorsements.
- Prepare and review underwriting documents, applications, and correspondence.
- Request, track, and organize information from brokers, agents, and clients as needed.
- Issue policy documentation, quotes, binders, certificates, andendorsements.
- Manage and update electronic files and records according to company procedures.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding underwriting requirements to support timely policy issuance.
- Liaise professionally with brokers, agents, and internal departments.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
- Contribute to underwriting projects and administrative initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in an insurance or financial services environment stronglypreferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning insurance systems/software.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Interest in advancing within the insurance industry.
